Jeff from MAC was amazing! He figured out in about one minute what was wrong with the a/c system and then spent a lot of his time walking us through the thermostat settings and options. He is incredibly knowledgeable...and charged us nothing!!! MAC is very responsive. We have set up a maintenance contract with them because we trust them so much!

I was not going to even write this but they sent a request, so here you go.Had a Gree mini-split that does part of our home go out on me. Had Mac HVAC come as they did our regular maintenance for us on two properties. Found out they did not maintain, nor ever offer to maintain or even let me know they did not maintain, the mini split. (It sits next to the primary so they knew it was there.)The mini split needed a board, and none were to be had but the office did the work of contacting multiple vendors including the manufacturer and eventually got me a board from them - free of charge. Excellent. But then the tech came in, plugged it in, and it burned out. Apparently the whole compressor was burned out - "the compressor is kaput. Burn marks all over the top of the compressor and so on." (quote from voicemail) So he had not checked the compressor at all the first time to see if that may be why the board died (seems like it was pretty obvious once he took the cover off), and hooked the new board up without checking at that point either. Wasted a good main board, the work and goodwill of their office team and the manufacturer (who gave them and me the board with no charge) and took weeks of my time to come back and say we need a new unit entirely because they didn't just check the compressor. They will likely want me to pay for that tech time as well.So the good is their office folk who seem to really go to bat for you with manufacturers, but the bad is that their tech (1) never told me they were not maintaining the secondary unit and (2) don't seem thorough enough to do a quick check of the compressor before plugging in a new, hard won board.I have no idea if the compressor burning up would have been avoided by doing the normal maintenance or not ("It was grounded" per the tech though I don't know if that was the cause or the effect), but my trust in their techs is currently minimal to zero.Overall I don't have trust for their techs, as they never mentioned the other unit could be maintained, nor did they check under the hood before frying that new board, so I would not recommend.

Brayden thoroughly cleaned the lines on the indoor unit. He checked the outside unit and pressure was good. He is going to report an installation problem that needs to be addressed.

I know nothing about AC and furnaces. (Heated the house in northern CA for 45 years with a wood-burning fireplace insert and did not have or need AC in the summers). John, Stix, and the general manager Tom (who installed AC units for Mac for years) seem to know everything. If one doesn't have an answer, the other does. Debbie, who along with Amanda, coordinates things, managed to get both in when the AC froze up late Thursday afternoon and spare me and my old lab and beagle companions a super hot weekend. I am most grateful. Also was pleased to meet and chat with the newest addition to Mac, their after hours AI call taker who asked all the right questions and was pleasant and personable to boot, just like the rest of the staff. I'd used two other HVAC companies before discovering Mac. I'm so glad I found them. They're the "real deal."

Very grateful to the whole team at MAC Heating & Air in Brevard. MAC Heating and Air has taken care of me in two homes in Brevard/Pisgah Forest. Mark McCarson has been running a top-notch, high professional, and technically skilled organization. Mark has also been the best resource for all of my heating and air needs for the past 20 years.Tom Stixrud, aka "Stix" knows my system inside out and is a trusted member of my HVAC team. He knows the house, the demands, the peculiarities of my situation. He understands the demands put on the system and my HEPA system and special dehumidifiers. He understands the WHOLE system and how it works together and has been an integral in developing a system which works extremely well. (I'm immune compromised and my house is a safe zone!) He is welcome ANYTIME and I count upon his expertise and advice as well as his technical skill.

We live in Hendersonville, NC. Our ac died at 5pm. In July.I called Mac's and a technician was at my home by 1pm the next day. The ac was fixed by 2pm. Randy was an excellent technician and I appreciate the fast response and service.

When the employee showed up at our house to fix our air conditioning, he was extremely rude and was very disrespectful towards my mother in law, disregarding what she had to say about what was wrong with the air-cooling system. When asked about what was wrong, refused to answer, when asked if the job was finished when he suddenly packed up and left through the back door, he said “dunno” then when it came to the payment, it seemed like he faked trying to take the Card about, twice before we were forced to give him cash instead.Needless to say, he made my MIL very upset as this was taken as a form of Sexism because she was a woman and she was alone. He only did not disrespect the women of the home when we called our uncle, a man.To us this behavior is extremely suspicious from someone who is an employee to such a good rated company on google.We will no longer be using this service as we feel the 5 star review is not accurate to the service that we received.

Randy called ahead to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived he checked out the indoor and outdoor units to determine the problem. It was determined that the thermostat was faulty. Randy installed a new one and set it up on WiFi. He came back today to install a new filter. Overall he did a great job!!

I had a great experience with the installation of my air conditioner and gas furnace. The team was professional, on time, and walked me through everything before starting the work. They made sure the system was installed properly, explained how to use the thermostat, and cleaned up afterward. Everything has been running smoothly, and the house feels much more comfortable. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for reliable HVAC service.

Can’t say enough good things about MAC Heating & Air. My unit stopped cooling and Tom Stix arrived promptly to assess the issues. He was so kind and asked lots of questions to get to root of problem. He was very thorough and communicated with me throughout the process. Thankfully, he was able to make necessary repairs on the spot and my unit was up running again. So happy with their service and will definitely use them in the future!

Jeff did great. He was good to work with, explained what he was going to do, showed me what was wrong and then fixed it quickly and the air is COLD!!! It’s running like brand new. Couldn’t ask for better service and Mac was fast getting to us. Summer is always full with breakdowns it seems but Mac turned us around in 24 hours. We were very pleased.

The technician was very helpful and the issue was fixed quickly once they arrived. There was however, a misunderstanding / delay due to the fact that the technician was first sent to the wrong address, which was the billing address, not the service address. I thought the info I provided was clear, but I guess this was an honest mistake.

We have used Mac Heating & Air since 2016 and have continuously been pleased with their service. They installed a heat pump in 2016 and check it prior to winter and prior to summer every year. They check our thermostat, humidifier and anything related to our heat & air. All have run with no problems from year to year.I especially appreciate their staff who are always willing to spend the time explaining what they have done during each visit. I trust them to work in my home even if I am not there personally.It's a pleasure to work with a company that does great service and has friendly and helpful people.

We absolutely love Mac Heating. I would not let anyone else work on our furnaces or air conditioning. This is the second air conditioner and furnace. I’ve had them install and they did a great job.And while I’m at it, John is the best service technician we’ve ever had. He not only knows what he’s doing, but he does it in a way that you never know he’s there. He does a fabulous job, as a matter of fact, we ask for him when we have service. He knows his stuff. He is very friendly and very capable, and all around nice guy.Service contract with Mac Heating. And we will not change that. The office staff is absolutely wonderful. But again, let me stress that they know their stuff, and John is one of the best if not the best HVAC guy we’ve ever run into. As a matter of fact, I look forward to seeing him every six months. What a guy!

Bryan Lindsey helped us out with service of our heat pump and air conditioning and did an awesome job. The service was very timely and Bryan was friendly, informative and educational! He got her system back up in business correctly and we appreciate the great service! I love Mac Heating and Air Conditioning! We had our annual maintenance today with John. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. And does a great job. Their office staff is great too. Especially Debbie who calls each spring to set up our maintenance schedule. We built our house in 2005 and we used Mac to install our Lennox hvac system. We have been using Mac ever since. They are dependable and honest. Highly recommend them!

The Mac Heating and Air team are great. Their engineer John Acker has done a great job servicing my system for the last bunch of years and it works like a dream. When I have had issues (e.g. failed water pump, furnace down because LPG ran out) they have either helped me over the phone (the reception staff are VERY knowledgeable) or sent someone round immediately. I strongly recommend having a service agreement with them. It keeps everything running smoothly and guarantees priority response.
